Spotlight: Hole In The Wall

My office mate is like my celebrity gossip guru. This morning, she directed me to some juicy gossip found on People.com (she likes to confirm whatever she finds through Perez Hilton just for good measure because, you know, Perez knows EVERYTHING and is a flaming hot fairy god). And I have a little something I like to call Link Addiction. Couple that with short attention span and I’m never on one site for long. So the juicy tidbit led me to a celebrity interview with Neil Patrick Harris (LOVE me some Barney), who is asked by the interviewer about the favorite shows he must TiVo. He’s not the only celeb posed with the question. While the most common answer was shows like Entourage and Project Runway, Neil added a show I’d never heard before called Hole In The Wall, much to the interviewers shock and amusement. Wanting to get in on the joke, I look up said show.

Apparently a take-off of popular Japanese show Brain Wall (and we know how entertaining their game shows can be – if you don’t, may I strongly recommend you look one or two or ONE THOUSAND up on YouTube… good times), it has been remade for the UK, Russia and U.S. audiences. All are equally hilarious and odd and cause people to make absolute fools of themselves. My kind of T.V.

(Russia)

(The U.S. – By far the funniest one I’ve seen…)

Now this is just wrong on so many levels. And I’m going to have to be the maddest at her skinny friends who knew she was big and still had her come on a show called Hole In The Wall. For real?

(Japan)

I don’t get the big Japanese head drawn on the board. Is that supposed to distract you? Scare you? It does both for me so score one for Japan.
